Our group was composed of different people with different personalities and different perspectives in life, but we do share one thing common and that’s being involved in Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications. To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward into doing this presentation knowing that it will be done by group. It’s just that had a little trauma with regards to working in groups because most of the time we end up doing everything in a rush. But this time, it’s different because we didn’t do everything in a rush and the tasks were distributed evenly. What I learned in this activity is that we should do work with the best of our abilities and not settle with mediocrity. What we do now reflects on our personality and how we will perform our tasks/works in the near future.
The interview is actually about Mr. Miguel Ramos, the chairman of a known advertising/media company here in the Philippines. In the interview he told us a little bit about himself, like what he took up in college and which school he graduated from. Alongside with that he also told us how he arrived with his job, how being in this industry runs in their family, how he sees himself if he is not in this industry, how everyday is a challenge for him, and how he enjoy his job. He also gave us words of wisdom/tips if we want to be involved in this kind of industry. “If you enjoy the challenge of creating communication companies or messages that help motivate people to patronize these kinds of companies or price this is a way to go”.
One thing I learned during the interview is that we should love what we are doing. Let me relate this with the Holstee Manifesto that I attached with this reaction paper. The Manifesto says it all. The only thing missing is Carpe Diem, meaning seize the day.
As a student I have more to learn. College is just a stepping stone for me to learn new things. I have more areas to improve on and more life to live. In order for me to improve and develop into becoming the person I want to be in the future I must be a sponge and be able to absorb all the things that are being taught in the four corners of the classroom. Along with learning is Experience, I must be able to learn not just from my experience but with other people’s experience as well. This will help me grow and learn and be as successful as the person I see myself in the future.
I also attached the Hostlee Manifesto in this paper.
