Si Tonying at Ang Mahiwagang Aklat ng Kasaysayan

The play is all about Tonying and how he saved the Philippine history from the wrath of Mangmang and his alipores. Tonying is the thirteenth “tagapagtala” of the Philippine history next to Tatalasi. They live in this place called Langit-langitan. In my point of view, it’s sort of like heaven and it is the place where history is written with the help of the three major things namely: aklat ng panahon, susi ng panahon, and salamin ng panahon.
Tatalasi, the twelfth tagapagtala, already had a vision that he’ll die anytime soon and he has to pass his so called “crown” to the person next in line which is Tonying.
The aklat ng panahon, susi ng panahon, and salamin ng panahon coincides when you’ll use it, because you can’t use one without having the other one.
While Tonying, for the first time, was writing what will happen in our history, there’s this group of people in black referred to as the bruhas, kapres, and alipores who came out of the salamin ng panahon all of a sudden. They were headed by Mangmang, a guy who is trying to steal everything in order to ruin history.
For Tonying, they were considered as distractions and temptations.
It’s a good thing Tatalasi is still there to be able to drive Mangmang away and to clear the things that were running in Tonying’s head.
Tatalasi gave Tonying advices and also warned him about the wrath of Mangmang and all his alipores.
Along with him being a tagapagtala is spending time with Musa, a beautiful lady which is in the end has a significant relation with history.
One day, when Tonying was alone writing our history in the aklat ng panahon. All of a sudden Mangmang showed up and tricked Tonyin into giving him the salamin, susi, and aklat ng panahon. Mangmang distracted Tonying and let him forget about what really happened.
It was also then when Mangmang killed Tatalasi.
Tonying was very eager to get the book and everything else back and save the Philippine history from the hands of the evil, Mangmang.
From Langit-langitan, he went to different historical places here in the Philippines only to find out that history is law and behold, changed for the worse.
From there he met Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, and Gabriella Silang. Those three helped him with Musa who became very ill and helpless due to the fact that her existence relies on history and now that it is being changed it’s like Musa’s identity is being erased. They also lead the way to Mangmang’s lair.
When Tonying finally reached Mangmang’s lair, to his surprise Kapre was guarding the entrance and along with Kapre is the Susi ng panahon. In order to get in ang get the key back, he let kapre realize how Mangmang is using him and alongside is Tonying let him realized the importance of nature and the trees and how to put a stop to all these nature destroying phenomena.
After passing through Kapre, Tonying had an encounter with Bruha. For Bruha to be able to let him reach Mangmang, he told bruha about being truly happy and the importance of not getting even.
Bruha helped Tonying in going to where Mangmang is. It was not easy to get the things back from Mangmang but he found a way. Instead of going through a bloody fight, he shouted to Mangmang every right detail he knows about history and that made Musa better and made him bring back the salamin ng panahon, aklat ng panahon, and susi ng panahon to Langit-langitan and saved the Philippine history.
